Ingredients
- 4 peaches
- 1 cup sugar (1/2 + 1/2)
- 3/4 tsp cinnamon (1/2 + 1/4)
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 cup water
- 8 tbsp (113 g) butter
- 1 1/2 cups (215 g) flour
- 2 1/4 tsp (8 g) baking powder
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups milk
Recipe
- Oven: 350 °F = 175 °C.
- Slice peaches.
- Mix peaches, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, nutmeg, water. Simmer for 10 min.
- Place butter in dish. Melt in the oven.
- Combine flour, baking powder, salt and 1 cup sugar. Stir in milk.
- Pour batter over butter. Lay fruits on top, drizzle with syrup. Sprinkle with 1/4 tsp cinnamon.
- Bake for 40 min.

modifications: this is one of the rare recipes that does bare to half the sugar without suffering in the texture or the taste. So I halved it. If the peaches are ripe and sweet, the sugar in the peaches can probably be omitted. This dessert is amazingly delicious.
