Ingredients
- 450 g red split lentils
- 1 L water
- 1 tbsp cumin
- 2 tsp turmeric
- 250 mL coconut cream
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 2 onions
- 4-6 cloves garlic
- 3 green chillies
- 2 tsp mustard seeds
- 2 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 tsp fennel seeds
- To serve: fresh coriander
Recipe
- Wash and drain lentils until water runs clear.
- Boil 1 L of water, add lentils, turmeric, salt to taste and ground cumin.
- Boil for 10-15 min until lentils are softened. Stir in the coconut cream and cook 5 min.
- Slice the onions and mince the garlic. Chop chillies.
- Heat coconut oil in a pan. Fry the seeds shortly, then add onions, garlic, chillies.
- Cook for 5-10 min until browned. Season.
- Stir onion and spice mix through the lentils.
