Bacon burger

Ingredients

Bacon onion balsamic jam

  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1 red onion
  • salt and pepper
  • ⅓ cup balsamic vinegar
  • ½ tsp mustard
  • ⅓ cup water

Burgers

  • 2 slices bacon
  • 1 ¼ pounds (567 g) ground beef
  • ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 2 oz (57 g) cheddar cheese

Recipe

Bacon onion balsamic jam

  1. Slice the bacon.
  2. Thinly slice onion.
  3. Pan, medium-high heat. Cook bacon until browned but not crispy (8 min). Remove.
  4. Add onions to pan, 1/4 tsp salt and pinch pepper. Cover pan, cook for 2 min. Add a splash of water, cook for 10 min, stirring, until soft.
  5. Add balsamic vinegar, mustard, water, bacon. Simmer until sauce thickens (2-4 min). Refrigerate up to 2 days.

Burgers

  1. Slice the bacon finely.
  2. Slice cheese into slices.
  3. Mix the bacon, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper in the ground beef. Make four patties.
  4. Grill, medium-high, 4-5 min per side. After flipping, add cheese, rest 5 min.
  5. Assemble burgers.
