Ingredients
Bacon onion balsamic jam
- 4 slices bacon
- 1 red onion
- salt and pepper
- ⅓ cup balsamic vinegar
- ½ tsp mustard
- ⅓ cup water
Burgers
- 2 slices bacon
- 1 ¼ pounds (567 g) ground beef
- ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
- ¾ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- 2 oz (57 g) cheddar cheese

Bacon onion balsamic jam
- Slice the bacon.
- Thinly slice onion.
- Pan, medium-high heat. Cook bacon until browned but not crispy (8 min). Remove.
- Add onions to pan, 1/4 tsp salt and pinch pepper. Cover pan, cook for 2 min. Add a splash of water, cook for 10 min, stirring, until soft.
- Add balsamic vinegar, mustard, water, bacon. Simmer until sauce thickens (2-4 min). Refrigerate up to 2 days.
Burgers
- Slice the bacon finely.
- Slice cheese into slices.
- Mix the bacon, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper in the ground beef. Make four patties.
- Grill, medium-high, 4-5 min per side. After flipping, add cheese, rest 5 min.
- Assemble burgers.
